This is the third time Apple feature my free castle defense game Lumberwhack: Defend the Wild on the iTunes App Store, this time in Monkey Games! Thank you Apple! :)

In the latest free update of Lumberwhack a bunch of in-game achievements was added. Each achievement offers several free rewards as additional Leafs, Power-Ups and Consumables. It will surely help your animals in their battle against the evil lumberjacks!

Poor Koko Kornelius, not able to sunday snooze! This is a simple back story and the intro movie added to the latest free update of Lumberwhack: Defend the Wild.
This 2D animation is actually made from in-game textures and flat 3D model assets from Maya, then animated and put together in Unity3D, same way as the rest of the game. It’s played in realtime just like a game, but capped at 60fps to properly sync with other functionality.
This makes it possible to display it on tablet devices in HD without hardly adding anything to the actual file size of the mobile app. The movie you see here is much less quality, because it’s captured from inside the game and converted to a playable movie format.
The Explosive Jack can be quite dangerous at some times, especially when several of these lumberjacks show up at once.
What’s your most common defense against them? Do you use animals with knock back power? Or do you send out a couple of Backattack Gator‘s to take care of them?
Perhaps you take care of it yourself by using the Suspicious Brew to transform Koko to the real king of the jungle!

Lumberwhack: Defend the Wild version 1.4.3 is now out with a couple of improvements and bug fixes:
What’s New in Version 1.4.3
– Added Leaf reward for replaying a completed level.
– Made it easier to collect bananas.
– Improved Koko’s targeting.
– Fixed an issue regarding the Backattack Gator.
– Level balancing.
Yea you heard right, version 1.4 is out with a lot of new features and improvements! The best part is, Lumberwhack is currently free for a limited time! Just download it at the App Store.
What’s New in Version 1.4
INVENTORY BAG – Poison all lumberjacks with Fatal Fungi, double your food amount with L.W Burger or use any of the other new items when you are facing an overwhelming force!
MARKET – Reset your upgrades and unlock unique features for each animal! What about a pair of boxing gloves for the Smashback Gorilla or a life saving lumber cap for Koko?
LEAFS & ACORNS – Leafs are now awarded instead of acorns for completing a level. Leafs act in the same way as the old acorns used to do. The new acorns are only collectable and drop more often, you can use them at the market.
I hope you have your costumes ready! Koko Kornelius have grown a set of vampire teeth so the lumberjacks better watch out! Let’s celebrate it with a weekend discount. Lumberwhack will be on sale for only $0.99 during Halloween!
